Joseph Francis Fergus, Jr., October 30, 2014, of Center City, Philadelphia (formerly of Brooklyn Heights, N.Y.). Beloved son of the late Joseph and Catherine (nee Donahue). Survived by his brothers, Eugene and John, and sister-in-law, Linda; three nephews and two nieces, Nicholas, Cynthia, John, Denise and Jeffrey. Also, by many dear and longtime friends in New York City, Philadelphia, Provincetown, Mass., and elsewhere. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and alumnus of the University of Pennsylvania. Joe was in international sales for the J.P. Lippincott Publishing Company in Philadelphia. However, he spent the better part of his career in publishing at St. Martin’s Press in New York City, where he served as VP of Sales and Public Relations until his retirement. Most recently he was a guide at the Franklin Institute, a position he every much enjoyed. He was a member of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Barnes Museum.
