Mary A. Rapone, nee O’Connor, of East Falls, Fairmount and Cathedral, died March 16, 2022.
She is pre-deceased by husband of 50+ years Joseph A. Rapone and son Michael and siblings Helen Lobs (James), Thomas O’Connor (Kitty) & Mary Rapone O’Shea (James). She is survived by loving children Anthony (Sally) and Kathleen and by many caring nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was the devoted grandmother to Anthony (Megan), Christopher (Becky) and Patrick (Jess) and adoring GG to Reese and Christopher. She was sister-in-law to Anna (Herkey) Hlywiak, Marge (Jack) Murphy, and William Rapone.
Mary graduated from and played basketball for John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls High School. She was an executive secretary at the Julia R. Masterman School for over 20 years. Mary was immensely devoted to her family. She enjoyed traditions of Sunday dinners and creating family memories at the Jersey shore. In later years, nothing brought Mary greater joy than being in the company of great-grandchildren Reese and Christopher.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing Mon. March 21 at St. Bridget Church, 3667 Midvale Ave, Philadelphia 19129, from 9:30-11 am, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11 am. Interment is at Calvary Cemetery, 235 E Matsonford Rd, Conshohocken, PA 19428.
Donations in Mary’s memory may be given to the St. Bridget Memorial Fund.
