NOTE: Tragically, Shawn’s sister Kelly died on Aug. 27th. Soon we will be posting an obituary for her. What follows is more about Shawn’s life and his family members.
Shawn P. McAndrews, Sr., died August 19, 2022, of East Falls.
He was the beloved son of Lois and the late John McAndrews.
Shawn Patrick McAndrews was born on April 25, 1978, to Lois McAndrews and the late John (Jack) McAndrews. Shawn was born In Philadelphia PA in East Falls, Shawn was survived by his son Shawn Patrick McAndrews Jr.
Shawn also was accompanied by his 4 Older Sisters: the late Kelly McAndrews (Leroy Arthur), Kimberly McAndrews (Patrick Small), Erin McAndrews (Keith Hoisington) and Nicole Welsh (Juan Villareal).
Shawn has many nieces and nephews: the late Melissa McAndrews, Scott Jordan, Vincent & Michael Cheever, Eric & Preston Pell, Gavin Small, Alyssa McAndrews, Daniel Morgan Jr, Kylie & Taylor Hutcheon. & his great nephews Edward McAndrews Gonzalez, Mason & Jayden Cheeveand his uncle, Ernest J. Simon Jr.
Shawn attended Mifflin Elementary School & Shellcross High School. He worked in construction.
Shawn loved going fishing, He was known for sitting and hanging out on his step, on the corner of Calumet and Dobson. He loved hanging with his 3 best friends Sam Roberts, Chris Fleig aka Fozzie and Jake Hillanbrand. He loved listening to Guns N Roses and Metallica.
Shawn was a fun, lovable person. He was our protector. Even though he was the tallest, he was still our little brother. Wherever we were, Shawn was there. We have so many memories with him. Whether good or bad, we got through it together. Shawn, you will always be missed and in our hearts forever We love you little Brother . R.I.P Shawn.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing on Wed. August 31, 5:00-7:30 pm., followed by a Service at the funeral home, 3711 Midvale Ave. at 7:30.
To the Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I grew up with Shawn. When my house burnt down in 2012 he saved my grandmother and my dogs life. Erin, Kimmy, Kelly and Family I am so sorry.
So very for to hear of Shawn passing. My deepest sympathy for Shawn Family. Shawn was a great person would do anything for anybody. He will be sadly missed by many. I know is son Shawn will miss his Dad but remember all the memories everybody share.
