Her daughters:
While we realize it is difficult to truly define someone’s true essence in an obituary, we would love to give you some more information about our Mom. Our Mom was loving and affectionate even in her final days. She loved smiling, laughing, and making others laugh. She loved giving and receiving kisses and loved pranking people. She taught us humor in the face of adversity. Our Mom was fierce! She was fierce in her beliefs about helping the underdog – from adopting Greyhounds to advocating for women to helping the troubled youth in Philadelphia. We had many strangers at our table for holiday meals. She was a trailblazer for women since she was a founding woman for the La Leche League in Philadelphia.
Our Mom was strong! Physically and mentally. She could do more push-ups than anyone we knew up to a year ago. She loved eating well, practicing yoga, walking, and exercising. She still loved her ice cream though!
Our Mom was an experience!

Sally Ferry was not only a wonderful sister-in-law, sister, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, niece, cousin but more importantly my sole partner in crime!!!
She managed to take this naive young Italian girl from the suburbs and teach her all the ways of City Life. From smoking Virginia Slims to teaching her how to parallel park on all the side streets in East Falls. She was my mentor at the time I was breastfeeding my children she was always there when I gave birth to my twins she loved her godson Freddy and he loved her. But she had a great gift and that was always to be positive make people laugh and be as ridiculous as she possibly could! I love you Sal I’m going to miss you take good care of your brother for me!
Sally was always a lovely person. She raised a wonderful bunch of children. I am so sorry I will not be able to attend her celebration of life. She will be remembered. Sincerely, Lorrie DiStefano
