Mildred DeCarolis–6/16/2024

Mildred DeCarolis, nee Moeller and Straface, age 94, formerly of East Falls, died June 16, 2024.

She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony. Former widow of the late Francis Straface.

Mil is survived by her daughters Carol (Rex), Arlene (Michael) and Millie (Brian); her grandchildren Stephanie, Brian (Megan), Matthew (Lauren), Patrick (Alison) and Kevin (Eryn); her great-grandchildren; Bella, Gabby, Eric, Cavan, Ethan, Delaney, Brian, Brynlee, Tiernan, Patrick, Brooke and Jack.

Mil was a former employee of Mellon Bank, retiring in 1992 after 26 years.  She was very active in her community where she belonged to St. Bridget and St. John’s Seniors and Journey’s Way.  She enjoyed many activities including line dancing (her favorite) and water aerobics.  One of her favorite things was to attend St. Bridget Seniors with her friends.  Mil used to help make sandwiches for the homeless as well.  She was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader and an Avon representative.

Mil was very creative and talented.  Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, sewing and making crafts.  She was well known for her beautiful crocheted baby sweaters and blankets.  She also designed and made her grandchildren’s Christening outfits that have been passed down to her great-grandchildren.  Mil was most proud of the amazing Christmas stockings which she created for all the children.

Mil lived her life to the fullest.  Family meant everything to her.  She was such a major part of all our lives.

She loved Cape May and the Poconos and traveled to the shore for family vacations.

Mil was loved by many and now there will definitely be a void in all our lives.

Relatives and Friends are invited to her Visitation (9:30) and her Funeral Mass (10:30) at St. Bridget Church on Wed. June 26th.

My prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time. Millie, sound like you are your Mom’s twin. She lived life to the fullest and so do you.

My deepest sympathies to Mildred’s immediate family members. She will be sorely missed by family and friends.
My mother (Therese Zaborowski-now deceased) who lived on Calumet Street in East Falls around the corner from Mildred and Anthony were best friends for several years. I remember when I visited my Mom in years past over the Christmas holidays visiting from Los Angeles that Mildred would call my mother each day to see how she was doing. Also Mildred would stop by each day to sit and chat with my Mom. My Mom really cherished her long term friendship with Mildred.
    I now live inNaples, Florida.

So very sorry to hear AboutI will always remember cAunt Mil. She will be missed by everyone she touched. I remember her cooking spaghetti for Sunday dinner for the family and she always put butter and garlic seasoning on hers. I will miss singing Happy birthday to her every Feb 3. Also remember getting her a cake at my wedding reception 51 yrs ago and having everyone sing to her. Sweet in our memories until we meet again. Love, Patti and Bill
