Henry E. Schleicher, age 88, of East Falls and Andorra neighborhoods in Philadelphia, died April 6, 2025. He is survived by his daughter Elise of Virginia and his grandson Matthew of Michigan. Henry was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Eleanor.
Henry was born in Elizabeth, N.J. and graduated from Lehigh University. Then he served in the US Navy for 10 years. For most of his civilian career, Henry worked as a public relations officer for Sun Oil. Henry was a faithful parishioner of St. Bridget Church, where he served as an eucharistic minister.
Henry was an avid tennis player at the Germantown Cricket Club. He was an accomplished painter and a talented woodworker. For several years Henry was a docent at the Phila. Museum of Art. He was a long time member of the Pastorius Society, a group of retired businessmen who met regularly for lunch in Germantown.
Relatives and friends are invited to Henry’s Visitation (10 a.m.) and Funeral Mass (11 a.m.) on Tues. May 6 at St. Bridget Church, 3667 Midvale Ave, Phila. PA 19129. His interment will be private and at a future date.
