Elva King—2/27/2018

Elva “Skipper” King 103 years young of Woodstown, NJ passed away on February 27, 2018. She was the wife of the late Charlie King who she married in 1935. Skipper was born October 14, 1914 in Troy, NY to Hugh and Susan McCarney – both first-generation Irish. She was the 12th of 13 siblings and with her passing the last of her immediate family.
Skipper was predeceased by her son Bayard and daughter-in-law Rosemary.  She is survived by three sons – Richard (Karen) of Kennett Square, PA, Peter (Sidney) of Grosse Pointe, MI and Michael (Debbie) of Evans, GA. Skipper is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.  A celebration of her life will take place on March 17 at 10 AM in the Woodstown Friends meeting house. A reception will follow at a place to be determined.
