BARBARA JEAN ALTOMARE

Barbara Jean Altomare, Nov. 6, 2021, age 89, of Plymouth Meeting. 

She was the beloved wife of Philip for 67 years and the loving mother of Philip Jr. “Nick” (Deborah), Mark (Dawn), Gail (Michael), and Paul (Joanne).  She was the dear grandmother of Laura, Lisa, Jennifer, Anthony, Vincent, Leonard, Michael, Kelsey, Philip, Danielle, Amy, Rebecca, Christopher and Eric. Barbara was also survived by 9 great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her grandson Nicky, her parents Harris Blankenship and Robert Gress, her sister Helen and her brother Sam. 

Although Barbara Jean was born in West Virginia, she was raised in Greenville, S.C.  She graduated from Greenville High School, Class of 1949.

In addition to being a loving wife, mother and grandmother, Barbara enjoyed playing the piano and she was a terrific bowler!  And let’s not forget her love for Barry Manilow. 

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay respects on Sat. Nov. 20th at Epiphany of Our Lord Church at 3050 Walton Rd. in Plymouth Meeting. Visitation, 9:30-10:45 a.m., Funeral Mass at 11:00. Interment George Washington Memorial Park, 80 Stenton Ave., Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462.

    I would have loved to have met your mother. Gail, your spunkiness, loving spirit, and energy must be a reflection of her. I am always impressed when you speak of your mother – always in such an honorable fashion. Keep the great memories alive. She will live on through those memories. May she rest in the Lord’s presence and may God provide your family the comfort and support needed as you grieve through your friends and through one another.
