Joseph P. Brehony, 89, beloved husband of the late Alyce A. Brehony (nee Homewood) passed away on March 23, 2015. Loving father of James (Theresa), Patricia (the late James), Lisa, Anne (Tom), and Carolyn (Bruce). Dear grandfather of Douglas and Jack Brehony, Julia and Thomas Bateman and Nicole, Tara, and Shane Weitz. Also survived by a special niece, Mary Alice Rizzo of Glen Ellyn, Illinois.
Joe was a sergeant in the Marine Corps in WWII and the Korean War. In his spare time, he was an active volunteer at St. Bridget Parish in East Falls and was a recipient of the Living Faith Award due to his strong support of the Catholic faith and the Parish.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family at St. Bridget Church, 3667 Midvale Avenue, Philadelphia, 19129, on Saturday, April 11, 2015, between 9 and 9:45 a.m., followed by his Memorial Mass at 10 a.m.
