Jane Trout—4/15/2016

Jane Trout (nee Hodgkins), 87, of Cape May, NJ, passed away in the evening of Friday, April 15, 2016.

Jane was born to the late Nathaniel and late Evelyn (Plummer) Hodgkins on September 13, 1928, in Queens, New York.

Jane spent most of her childhood in Maine. She then traveled and lived in several states throughout the country before marrying and starting a family in New York. Jane later relocated with her family to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Jane studied at Temple University and taught elementary grades within the School District of Philadelphia.

Jane is remembered as a charismatic and strong woman who was well-loved by all. She was a memorable part of several communities including her beloved campground Big Timber Lake, Victorian Towers of Cape May, Philadelphia, and surrounding areas.

An indelible impression was left on all who came into contact with her, including her great legacy and special connections with her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Frank E. Trout and daughter, Melinda Trout. Jane is survived by four sons, Frank, Dale, Chris, and Scott and one daughter, Brenda (Trout) Carty, 11 grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, April 21, 1-:30 am at the McIlvaine Funeral Home in East Falls, Interment Calvary Cemetery.
