James Leonard Collins, Sr., 73, died peacefully on Saturday, December 16, 2017, surrounded by family.
Jim was predeceased by his father, Leornard; his daughter, Marianne McAndrews; his son, David Sr., and his daughter-in-law Barbara (nee Duber). He was survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret “Sue” (nee Peterman), his mother, Teresa McGeehan Collins, one son, James L. Collins, Jr. (Mary-Kate), 11 grandchildren Nicole McAndrews, Colleen Vasquez (Carlos), Billy McAndrews, Cory McAndrews (Alex), James Collins III (Malinda), Sean Collins, Ben Collins, Reese Collins, David Collins, Heather Collins, and six great grandchildren.
Jim was born and raised in Philadelphia and was a graduate of North Catholic High School. He was a long-time employee of Acme Markets and a proud member of Teamsters Local 500. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father and an adoring grandfather.
There will be a Visitation at St. Bridget Church, 3667 Midvale Ave., Philadelphia 19129. Thursday, December 21, 9:30-10:30 a.m., followed by Jim’s Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment private.
