It is with great sorrow that we report the passing of Margaret “Sue” Collins (née Peterman), 79. Sue died on March 19, 2023 after a long illness.
Sue was predeceased by her father, Richard Peterman, her mother, Helen McCann, four sisters and two brothers, her husband, James L. Collins, her daughter, MaryAnn McAndrews, her son, David Sr., and her daughter-in-law Barbara (née Deuber).
She was survived by her son, James L. Collins, Jr. (Mary-Kate); 11 grandchildren: David Collins, Heather Collins, James L. Collins III (Malinda), Sean Collins (Amanda), Ben Collins, Reese Collins, Nicole McAndrews, Colleen Vasquez (Carlos), Bill McAndrews (Charlene), Cory McAndrews; ten great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, 7 siblings: Betty Bologna, Mary Flaton, Donna Rohrich, Janet Peterman, Stephen Peterman, Richard Peterman, and Craig Peterman.
Sue was born and raised in Philadelphia and was a 1962 graduate of West Catholic Girls High School.
She will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother, and an adoring grandmother.
Anyone who knew her knew that she was also an avid fan of The King – Elvis Presley.
Her Visitation (9a.m.) and Funeral Mass (10 o’clock) will be on Tues. March 28th at St. Bridget Church, 3667 Midvale Ave., Phila. 19129. Interment will be private and at a later date.
Donations may be made in Sue’s honor to the American Diabetes Association.
