Marie F Damiano—7/25/2023

Marie F Damiano, 90, resided at St Mary’s Villa Personal Care at 701 Lansdale Avenue, Lansdale Pa 19446, formally from Delran, NJ, died Sunday, July 25, 2023, at the Villa. She was born on November 25, 1932, in Philadelphia, Pa. Marie was the wife of the late John Damiano who died in 2021 and mother of the late Damien Damiano who died in 2023 and was the daughter of the late Dominic and Theresa Furia. Survivors from NJ are granddaughter and son in Law: Autumn and Frank Gavigan, daughter in law; Stacey Damiano and daughter; Louise Damiano-Gavigan and extended families from PA, NJ, and DE of nieces and nephews and their children; Delago, Rowe, and Scarselletti.

Marie enjoyed traveling with her family when the children were young during the summer months exploring National State Parks and the Eastern Coast driving in a Volkswagen Camper.  Her secondary home was in Ventnor, NJ where she resided during the summer months for 60 years with her sisters and their family. Marie loved to explore new events at the Jersey shore and to sit on the boardwalk to meet friends and to capture the ocean view. She was in her glory when her nieces and extended family vacationed with her at the shore.

Marie was a teacher in the NJ public school district near her home until she retired. She received a BA in Home Economics from Temple University then later enrolled in Glassboro State College for another degree as a reading specialist. Marie had many talents but the most passionate was singing. Her operatic voice was heard for weddings and special services and events at St Rita’s Church in Philadelphia and the Catholic neighborhood church in Delran, NJ. She enjoyed preparing and cooking elaborate meals for the holidays and cousin’s club for her husband’s side of the family. Later in life, she loved to entertain her friends by singing and sharing stories.

Services will be held at St Mary’s Church in Lansdale at 701 Lansdale Ave, Lansdale, PA 19446 on August 18, 2023. The viewing is planned at 10:30 at the church followed by the Mass beginning at 11am. Reception in the dining room after Mass- private invitation. Place of Interment is private. For more details call: 215-855-3434.
