Pat was born on October 16, 1947, in East Falls to Frank and Frances DiCicco. If you asked his mother, he walked on water.

From an early age, Pat was known around the neighborhood and went by many different nicknames – “Cheeks” and “Sonny” to name a few. Pat grew up with two brothers, Frank and Charles.

He went to St. Bridget’s elementary school, where he also served as an altar boy. In the eighth grade, Pat met his childhood sweetheart and wife, Kathleen, to whom he dedicated himself for 57 years.

He then attended Roman Catholic High School, where he played football. He stayed active in the alumni community and became a Board of Trustees member later in life.

Pat entered the workforce at a young age and tried his hand in various industries from baked goods (Tastykake) to airplane manufacturing (Boeing) before entering the construction equipment business in 1967 as an assistant parts manager at State Equipment Corp. In 1971, he became a sales representative at Eagle Power & Equipment (formerly Case Power & Equipment) where he worked for the rest of his life. While he could have retired in 2015, he instead became a key account manager which allowed him to continue to do what he loved: maintain his friendships and connections with his coworkers and customers. In reality, Pat’s customers weren’t really customers; they were truly friends, who just happened to also need equipment.

As the loving and dedicated father of four children (Patrick, Kathleen, Gina, and James), grandfather of five children, and great-grandfather of three children, Pat was truly a family man. He would do anything for his family and loved spending time with them at home and down the shore.

Pat was a member of many different organizations. He was a longtime volunteer Fireman and the Health & Safety Officer at Barren Hill Fire Company. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus in the third degree and Elks Lodge 1896. He loved to row, as a member of the Whitemarsh Boat Club, he golfed, and he was passionate about music. Pat took accordion lessons and taught himself to play the piano, ukulele, and harmonica.

Pat could bring a smile or a laugh to anyone who was blessed to meet him. If you knew Pat, you could probably recount many of the jokes and stories that he so loved to tell, and that he was great at sharing. Pat captivated everyone he met, and he made everyone feel so loved and welcomed. He will be missed and remembered by many. Rest In Peace.

  1. William LaPorte says:

To the DiCicco family, our sincerest condolences on the passing of a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather.

Although I did not know Mr DiCicco personally, I did not need to know him personally to be aware of the positive impact he had on, and in our community simply by providing his family with the best of opportunities for all members of his family, especially his children, which we in the Saint Bridget and East Falls communities dare I say, may have taken for granted in our youth. Exhibiting the cherished positive character traits that we now as parents hope to pass down to our descendants, and beyond. Which is backed by this beautiful testimonial that I have just read.

Please know, that in these difficult times, which have spanned the last three months for your family, your father and family will be remembered and thought of in our thoughts and prayers.

    With sympathy, the LaPorte family
