Joan Newell, March 2, 2017, age 75, of East Falls. Beloved daughter of David Newell, Jr., and Jane Dunn Newell.
Survived by a brother, David Newell III, of King George, Va., an aunt, Gertrud Newhall, of Granby CT, several cousins, many wonderful friends and neighbors in East Falls, and her beloved golden retriever, Emma. “Joanie” attended Springside School, Sweetbriar College and Bryn Mawr College where she received a graduate degree in Social Work.
Joanie provided individual and family counseling from her private practice in Philadelphia. Her Service will be held at St. Thomas’ Church, Bethlehem Pike and Camp Hill Road, Fort Washington, on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at 11 am. Interment St. Thomas’ Cemetery.
